Transportation

While in Estes Park, the best way to get around is by private vehicle. Streamside is located only 2 miles from downtown Estes Park, and 2 ½ miles to the Fall River Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are so many sights to see around town and in the National Park; Private vehicles are the best way to see them.

Visitors arriving from Denver International Airport are recommended to rent a vehicle at the airport and drive to Estes Park. It is roughly an 80-mile trip and can take up to 2 hours. If you prefer to take a shuttle from the airport to Estes Park, we want to point out that there is very limited rental car services in Estes Park (Estes Park Rent A Car (970) 577-9715). The Estes Park Shuttle (www.EstesParkShuttle.com) provides door-to-door services between DIA and Estes Park.

In the summer (July to early September) the Town of Estes Park has a free shuttle that runs from Streamside to downtown Estes Park and the Visitor’s Center. (www.colorado.gov/townofestespark/shuttles)  Parking is at a premium in downtown Estes Park and in the National Park during the summer months and we strongly recommend using the shuttles when possible. A new, free parking structure has opened downtown located off Highway 36 across the river from the Estes Park Visitor Center. This is a convenient location to park to access the downtown Riverwalk.

Rocky Mountain National Park also has shuttles available that takes visitors from the Estes Park Visitor’s Center or the Estes Park Fairgrounds parking lot into Rocky Mountain National Park.  From the Visitor’s Center or the Fairgrounds, you can catch the “Hiker’s Shuttle” into Rocky Mountain National Park. This shuttle will take riders to the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and then to the Park & Ride inside the park where other shuttles are available to take you to either the Bear Lake region or the Moraine Park region of the Park.

Of course, tours are available to see the sights around town and Rocky Mountain National Park. We recommend Rocky Mountain Rush tours for a great tour in a fun and unique “hummer-like” vehicle (www.rockymountainrush.com) or Green Jeep Tours (www.greenjeeptour.com)

Limited taxi service is also available in Estes Park. You can contact Estes Park Taxi at (970) 372-9888 or Peak to Peak Taxi at (970) 586-6111.
