3:00pm - 4:00pm  An Unbelievable Find  www.estesparkarchives.com at Lake Shore Lodge.  Like Fermat's missing proof or the lost city of Atlantis, an Estes Park newspaper from 1914 called the "Alikasai" has been the stuff of legend: hinted at, hoped for, but never actually seen. The Estes Park History Rescue Project (EPHRP), since its inception, has considered the 1914 Estes Park Alikasai its "holy grail", something fervently pursued, yet unlikely to be found. In December 2009, an e-mail from a woman in upstate New York changed all of that. EPHRP will give Estes Park the first opportunity to examine one of its "lost" treasures, a June 1914 issue of the Alikasai, which spent much of its life tucked behind the wall of a wooden cabin in Gold Hill. Without doubt, it is destined to become one of showpieces of Estes Park's early history.  Admission is free.  970-232-4145

10:00am – 12:00pm  Cheley Camp Tour  Back by popular demand! Join us for a tour of the historic Cheley Colorado Camp This tour is facilitated by the Estes Park Museum and guided by Cheley Camp staff. Estes Park was a sleepy mountain town in 1921 when Frank Cheley founded Cheley Colorado Camps as the Bear Lake Trail School at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Just 24 campers attended that first year. By 1926, the camp grew to accommodate 60 boys who swam in the lake and ate meals at the Bear Lake Lodge. By 1927, the camp outgrew the available space and the Cheley Colorado Camps moved to its present location off of Fish Creek Road, where its legacy continues today. Cheley now hosts more than 1,000 campers annually. The camps are among the oldest camps in the country, and they have brought thousands of campers and families to Estes Park over the years. Join the Estes Park Museum and the staff of Cheley Colorado Camps as we learn more about the camp and tour Cheley’s magnificent rustic stick architecture cabins and lodges. Free for members of the Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation, Inc. and $5 for non-members.  Space is limited and reservations are required by calling the Museum at 970-586-6256.

Free for members of the Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation, Inc. and $5 for non-members

Space is limited and reservations are required by calling the Museum at 970-586-6256.

7:30pm Friday & Saturday; 2:00pm Sunday  The Gin Game Theater Production  Weller Martin and Fonsia Dorsey, two elderly residents at a nursing home for senior citizens, strike up an acquaintance.  Neither seems to have any other friends, and they start to enjoy each other's company. Weller offers to teach Fonsia how to play gin rummy, and they begin playing a series of games that Fonsia always wins.  Weller's inability to win a single hand becomes increasingly frustrating to him, while Fonsia becomes increasingly confident.  While playing their games of gin, they engage in lengthy conversations about their families and their lives in the outside world. Gradually, each conversation becomes a battle, much like the ongoing gin games, as each player tries to expose the other's weaknesses, to belittle the other's life, and to humiliate the other thoroughly.  $12 in Advance; $14 at the door; students $6 in advance, $8 at the door.
